"I chose to work at the library because I wanted a job close to my building freshman year. Little did I know it became my favorite place to be, even shaping my desire to become a librarian in the future. I've never been in a place that lets me express my creativity and thirst for knowledge than the library, and the people that support me there too!" - Loyola student ('26)
“Working at LNDL as a student worker from NDMU was one of the most rewarding parts of my entire college experience. It was more than just a job; it was a place where I felt truly supported and valued. I learned much through assisting library patrons, supporting day-to-day operations, and building meaningful relationships with all of the amazing LNDL staff.” - Notre Dame Student (‘25)
"I chose to work at the library because at the time it was right across from my dorm and I thought it would be a more peaceful place to work. I’ve learned a new skill with bookkeeping. Without the library I’m not sure I would have been so productive with my schoolwork." - Loyola student ('26)
“I really enjoyed working at LNDL, especially because of the supportive coworkers and supervisors who were always there to guide me, both professionally and personally. Over time, I grew from being a quiet student to someone who could confidently hold conversations with patrons, and that growth means so much to me.” - Notre Dame student (‘25)
A Loyola class of 2024 student listed the Head of Archives and Special Collections in response to a Loyola Career Center survey asking "As you think back on your career development process, are there any faculty or staff at Loyola who were particularly influential in preparing you for this next step?"
"In my time so far at LNDL as the Graduate Collections Assistant there have been many projects and opportunities. Specifically, helping grow and improve the Leisure Reading Collection has allowed me to get even more hands-on learning. Moreover, by working in the acquisitions department I have seen the process of how LNDL manages the collections and this will benefit me as I finish my MLIS degree and look for a full time position.”
