Captions for Streaming Videos

The Library is committed to providing captioned videos to our users. The Library currently subscribes to two streaming video databases, Kanopy and Films on Demand. Both databases provide access to closed captioning and transcripts for their videos. For more information on how to use the closed captioning and transcript features visit:

The library also provides access to a number of individually licensed streaming videos and videos produced by Loyola and Notre Dame. Publicly available streaming videos will include closed captions. Videos licensed for use by individual courses and only accessible to students and faculty in those courses will be captioned on request. To request captioning for these videos please contact Danielle Whren Johnson at dwhren@loyola.edu or dwhren@ndm.edu

Captions for DVDs and VHS Tapes

The Library provides access to an extensive collection of physical media in the form of DVDs and VHS tapes. Not all of these materials include captioning. If captioning is needed for DVDs or VHS tapes that do not include it please contact Danielle Whren Johnson at dwhren@loyola.edu or dwhren@ndm.edu.
