Atlantic World/Leonard: Getting Started

Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database

Welcome to the research guide designed for Dr. Leonard's Atlantic World, Early Republic, and/or 'Hometown' research assignment that aligns with either of these classes or other American/African-American History classes taught by Dr. Leonard. These pages provide access to some of the most useful resources available through the library for these classes and this assignment. Use the tabs above to explore the guide.

Using the Library from Off-Campus

Many of the library's resources are available to you even when not on campus. From any location in the United States, you can:

  • Access library databases
  • Download full-text journal articles
  • Request scanned copies of print journals from the library (use this library e-mail form)
  • Get help from a librarian via phone (410-617-6802), text (410-929-6876), e-mail and Instant Message (24-7).

Just remember -- when you leave campus, the library and research librarians are out of sight, not out of mind!
