Distance Students: Affiliate Campus and Off-Campus Users: Full-Text Articles

How Do I Find the Full Text?

After completing your search for articles in one of the library's databases, you'll see several options for accessing the full text. View this guide for help with accessing the full text of an article.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that enables patrons affiliated with Loyola University and Notre Dame of Maryland University to request materials not owned by the Loyola/Notre Dame Library.

Accessing Articles

If an article is available full-text online, you will be able to view, download and/or print it from any location.

If the article is not online but IS available in print at the library, you have two options:

  1. Visit the library in person to read the article. Journals can't be checked out of the library, but you can photocopy articles (15¢/page) or scan them (free) for later use.
  2. Request a copy of the article through Interlibrary Loan. Indicate in the "Notes" section of your request that you are unable to come to the library in person. The article will either be delivered to your affiliate campus in print (check with the front desk) or, if scanned, will be e-mailed to you directly. Allow 2-3 business days for delivery.

If the article is not available through the library, either in print or online, request a copy through Interlibrary Loan. Articles are typically delivered in 24 hours or less.
